IE6 opens up automatically

I can be working in an application when I hear a click. I
see IE6 minimized and when I click on it an ad appears or
a website unrelated to anywhere I've been. If I go to
task list, I sometimes see multiple iexplorer sessions
running. I have removed IE and reinstalled. Also, I 've
removed several other applications that were installed on
the pc (unsupported software).
I need IE6 installed for our SAP application.

Any help you can give me, would be great!!!

First eliminate any scumware.
