W2k desktop, IE6 lockup

Hi,

I'm running a little W2k sp4 desktop with IE6, Kerio, AVG, Spybot, DSL.
3.2 ghz Celeron, 1gb mem, plenty disk space.

Typically have a mail client, usenet reader, WinExplorer, UltraEdit
and 3 or 4 ie6 sessions active.

Sometimes when I get up to 4+ ie6 sessions, Task Mngr shows 100% cpu
utilization (but only ~380 mb mem usage) and several sessions lock
up (perhaps when ie6 runs multiple "secure" sites?) or become
-incredibly- slow, and video becomes partially crippled.

Why does it lock up? To my knowledge, none of the sessions should
be requesting excessive (i.e. cpu) resources. An ie6 bug or "gotcha",
perhaps?

TIA,
Puddin'

Probably a malware infection. Help with malware:

So How Did I Get Infected Anyway?
For quite a few people it's by installing Messenger Plus, whose ads for
malware don't identify the malware as such and try to convince you that you
owe it to the author. See also:

Don't ever do a "default" install of anything. Always choose Custom and see
what else is being carried along. Don't install any extras you're not sure
of.
