Lately, I have found many computers with XP, both Home and
Pro, that cannot browse web pages. MSN, Yahoo Chat, even
Norton Live Update work fine, but browsing only gets 'This
page cannot be displayed.' I have also noticed that these
computers are using programs that use proxy servers.
The problem is, even after removing all the programs,
running virus scans, removing ad-ware files, and even
uninstalling and installing IE6 and running updates, IE6
still will not browse. In IE 5.5, there was a repair for
a problem similar to this, I have yet to find a fix for
this problem with XP. Any help would be appreciated.
If you have any questions about what other actions have
been taken, feel free to email me. Thanks.
