IE6 looses server-connection while surfing

Since about a month I'm having problems with my IE6. While I am surfing on a
website, suddenly IE looses the connection I think. Sometimes this occurrence
seems to go together with Ve..e..e..e..e.ry slow loading of gifimages. (like
navigationbutton-images)

Example:
-Surfing at Eclipse.org (my best example, friends have no problem surfing
here with IE6 or IE7)
-linking/clicking to a related page. Then IE can't load the page and shows a
'can't find server' message.
-when retrying several times IE still can't find the server. When waiting
about 15minutes and try again, the page loads fine. but after a little
navigating through the site, te problem comes up again.

Windows-configuration:
Win Xp Pro SP2 + updates (IE7 never installed, so that can't be the problem)
IE 6 with Live Toolbar (with phishing filter on)

I hope you can help me,
Bye

Hi XPpro,

Here is the DNS report for eclipse.org

http://www.dnsreport.com/tools/dnsreport.ch?domain=www.eclipse.org

From the us location it is reporting a number of nameserver errors. This
could be causing the slowdown for you (depending upon how and where your web
requests are being routed), whereas your friends may be on a different
network (ISP) which would explain why they can load the site quickly.

Hi Rob,
thx for your quick reply,

....But I don't think that is the problem. The problem really is my computer
because my brothers computer has no trouble with websites. As said
Eclipse.org is just an example, but it really has something to do with
gif-images and my IE.
Btw, I live in Holland. I just posted in the english section because I
expected a higher chance that someone could help me.
-so routing is not going via US I think
-Problem also occurs on dutch websites (that are hosted in NL!)

So clear is that is has nothing to do with routing. My brother has no
trouble viewing the websites. (Same ADSL-modem, also wired).
the only difference between the 2 computers is:
I update always everything. Excluding unnessessary(correct spelled?)
updates.(i.e. IE7)
He doesn't.
I sometimes run a prog for checking register keys.(Crap Cleaner, Hitman Pro
behaviourScan)

Maybe you can help me out with this little extra info.
tnx in advance

Hi XPpro,

The standard answer to the description of your symptoms is to clear the
cache. Tools>Internet Options, General tab, (Temporary Internet files
secition), Delete Files. While you are at it, also check your allocations
for the Tif folder (settings button on the General tab). The recommended
size is between 50-250 MB. There is apparently no need to allocate any more
than 250MB and an allocation greater than this I beleive can cause problems.

You will find more settings for the display of images on the Advanced tab of
Internet Options under the Multi-media section.

Regards
