IE6 intermittent "operation aborted" problems

After a recent "windows update" I notice that a few wbe
pages will not load.

IE6 gives the following error message pop-up (and beeps
once)

Internet Explorer cannot open the Internet site (site
address)
Operation aborted
(OK)

The web page is visible behind the pop-up box displaying
this error message.

When you click the OK button, the web page is then
replaced by the standard "The page cannot be displayed"
message and the pop-up is dismissed.

IE version: 6.0.2800.1106 on Windows 2000

Check your system for "hijackware".

I highly recommend using HijackThis
(http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/files/hijackthis.zip) to identify and
assist in the removal of these bad guys. **Post your files to
http://forums.spywareinfo.com/, not here.**

Also update your virus definitions and then run a full system scan. From
now on, do both daily.
