IE6 fails to open - error in shdoclc.dll

Hi Folks

Hope someone has a solution to this, I've read through some of the boards and can see similar problems

When I open up IE6, it appears that its linking to the homepage, but then the program just closes. Sometime so quickly that you can't see any messages, sometime with an error relating to shdoclc.dll.

I also have an AOL icon for when I was connecting via dial-up. Have noticed posts which imply AOL sometimes takes over so that IE doesn't open. I can access webpahes no problem using AOL icon set to detect broadband connection

I've scanned machine from top to bottom with AVG and Adaware and also have a Zonelabs Firewall in place

Any ideas or a solution would be much appreciated.
