infected with malware.

Thanks, I'm using IE6 with SP1. (on a very slow network).
Currently the default is set to "current browser". I will experiment with
setting it to IE. I will then try the other things you suggest. I plead
ignorance with a lot of this stuff but we will muddle thru. Thanks again

I changed the default to IE. Something had been calling IE and it would
bomb out leaving an error box on the screen. Somehow that got stopped.
So
things are a little easier to check out. The Icon still doesn't
work--have
to run IE from taskmanager but it does seem a lot more stable.
