IE6 causes CD-RW/DVD-R drive to spin

When I browse the web using IE, it causes my CD burner to start spinning if
there is a disk in the drive. Internet Explorer temporarily pauses when
this happens. I disabled auto-play but to no avail. Is there anyway to
stop this from happening?

WinXP Pro
drive 1 is a regular CD rom drive
drive 2 is an HP 200xi DVD writer

Virus?

Have you an UPDATED virus scanner installed? Have you checked for worms or
trojans?
