IE won't display the pages searched for

I recently installed Norton Internet Security 2004 and
after following the instructions faithfully, when the PC
was rebooted, IE would come up with my "blank" page to
open, however when I would try to load another page it
would not do so. Keeps giving a message that the page is
not available and check settings. After checking settings
and going to IE default it still will not load. Also,
Windows Media Player will not stream now. It will work ok
with my hard drive files but I can not get streaming video
or radio now. I have downloaded the latest update but that
did not help.
I have tried to use the last MS IE cd version 6 to install
but it will not saying it is an older version than what is
currently installed. I do not want to loose all my
Favorites so I have not un-installed and tried to install
from a CD.
Norton gives you no way to contact them to discuss the
problem. It has obviously deleted some other critical files
when I un-installed the 2003 version before installing the
new 2004 version.
Any suggestions please?

it almost sounds like a firewall issue, try disableing
nortons and see if that the problem.

I tried disabling Norton Internet Security and IE still
will not load a website. ? Any more thoughts ?
