IE--pages won't load

This problem is the same as described by Siva on May 1 -- pages won't load.
I use win xp, sp2. Recently, I was persuaded to try Firefox and did find
that it was quicker in loading certain pages. However, soon after this, the
problem began.
IE worked perfectly on first booting, but after the first use and IE stop,
IE would not load the home page or any other page, and would work only after
a cold boot. The same thing happened with Firefox, no matter which was the
default browser. I uninstalled Firefox and deleted any references to Mozilla
or Firefox, but IE continued to have the same problem. After booting, but
not using IE for 10 min, IE would not load any page automatically, but on
clicking stop and 'home' it would go to the home page. Again after first use
it would not load any more pages.
An article in Scott's Newsletter this week described a similar problem with
Firefox alone.
My wife's computer is connected to the same modem and router and it works
perfectly. We both have a lot of spyware installed. Adaware and spybot are
used infrequently, but MS Antispyware and CounterSpy are running all the
time on both units and were installed about the same time as Firefox.
I also installed Choice Mail as a spam blocker about the same time.
Has anyone some advice as to how to prevent this problem from continuing.
Thanks so much
Bill
