IE suddenly stops loading pics and icons

It seems to be fine one second, the next it will only display text until I close/restart IE. It will tell me that it is downloading the visuals (such as "14 items remaining...") but they never actually come up. Can anyone tell me why this is happening and what I can do to prevent it? Thanks.

You may need to clear your TIF as you may have a corrupt file there.

Close all instances of OE and IE
Control Panel | Internet Options | General tab
Click the "Delete Files" button, when prompted place a check in:
"Delete all offline content", click OK
Click the "Clear History" button, click OK.
Click the Settings button, adjust the TIF size to 50 mb, click OK

I'll give that a shot. Thanks Mike. (I had tried deleting the temporary files, but I had not tried the TIF settings yet, nor did I clear the history)
