IE Suddenly Stopped Working

Although I am on AOL I don't use the AOL's web browser to
browse the internet. I've been using IE6 all along up
until last Wednesdy, then suddenly I can't get it to load
for nothing. About the only way I can get it to load is
to open IE sign off of AOL let IE tell me that there is
no page to display then sign back onto AOL then do a
NetDetect and run IE that way. It works temporarily but
thats not a fix. When I open IE all it does is just sit
there and tells me that its trying to detect proxy
settings. I'm a little lost and I would like to use IE
again.
