IE shutting down

I try to use IE and it just shuts down. It asks me if I
would like to send an error report to Microsoft. Often
happens when pages have pop-ups. Anyone have any ideas.
I am using windows XP and IE 6.0

Your IE is corrupt, does it come up with "This program

has performed an illigal operatioon??" If it does it's
corrupt and you'll need to reinstall. Click the start menu
go to run and type scannow /sfc I think that's the command
you'll need, I can't quite remember. JUst give microsoft
a call and work the error to them.
