IE shortcuts open in existing windows

Hi, recently on one of the profiles on my computer,
internet shorcuts in tool bars, messenger email popups and
the desktop have been opening in an existing window,
closing down all other browser windows. I have tried
unticking "Reuse windows when launching shortcuts" however
this has not been successful.

Has anyone got any solutions to this extremly annoying
problem?

Yahoo Companion may be the culprit if installed in that profile.
