IE problems

Annette

I have the same problem. My IE will not open any
websites, other than gotomypc.com. I get the "cannot
find server or DNS error" window/message. I've
downloaded IE again and reinstalled it, because I was
told by my ISP that it was corrupted, but that hasn't
worked, either. Right now, I'm using the free AOL disk
just to be able to access the microsoft website, since
nothing else works.

So, what's the solution? What am I missing? I much
prefer IE over Netscape, but what's the point if I can't
access webpages?

Annette,
This is probably being caused by a third-party program (adware, spyware,
parasite)

Work through the solutions (CWShredder, Ad-aware, Spybot) at
http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/unwanted.htm Also note the security tips on that
page.

Additional information at:
The Parasite Fight http://www.aumha.org/a/quickfix.htm
Bugs, Glitches & Stuffups: http://www.mvps.org/inetexplorer/Darnit.htm

If the problem persists after removing malware, try LSP-Fix from
http://www.cexx.org/lspfix.htm for WinXP, some people recommend
http://members.shaw.ca/techcd/WinsockXPFix.exe - Winsock repair utility
designed for Windows XP (also listed on the cexx.org page.)

Can't display- DNS errors: http://www.mvps.org/inetexplorer/answers.htm#dns
