IE/Outlook Hanging

When computer is left idle for as little as 15 min. or
so, applications (IE/Outlook used most frequently) hang.
Only way to clear is to log out. But logging out is
unusually slow and always results in an "End Program"
dialogue box error for any app opened (usually
IE/Outlook). Suspect virus. Removed the adware.clrsrch
virus recently (deleted from reg keys). Worked for a
while. Suspected virus is back. Reg directory seems
fine (clrsrch has not re-appeared). Norton finds no
viruses now. Spybot keeps finding the same items.
They're cleared every time when I run. Norton did find a
download.trojan virus recently. I went into appropriate
reg key and found nothing. Norton hasn't found it again.
Please help.

Hi Jimmy,

Check your settings here:

Right click My Computer Icon/Properties/Hardware/Device Manager. Expand USB
Controllers/Double Click USB Root Hub/Properties. Select Power Management
and uncheck: Allow the computer to turn off the device to save power.

Other than the above: Check for odd entries here:
Start/Run/Msconfig/Startup, Start/Run/Regedit:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

Running processes: Task Manager and Start/Run/eventvwr
