IE Not Responding to Keystrokes

In an Internet Explorer session, I often have the experience of getting
no response to various keys. Unresponsive keys include Ctrl-N, Tab,
and Ctrl-L. I also find that the X in the top right corner of the
screen, which I click on to close the window, may not respond to my
clicks. When that happens, I have to use Ctrl-Alt-Del to eventually
find and close the running process.

If I open additional sessions of IE, I will probably have this problem
in some (usually the first) but not all sessions. Right now, for
example, I am composing this in an IE session where everything seems to
be working fine; but I am writing this because the first session I
opened was not (and still is not) responding.

I have seen a couple of posts indicating that this problem could derive
from spyware, trojans, etc. But I have done numerous recent sweeps
with Symantec AntiVirus, Ad-Aware, and Spybot, using the latest
versions and most recent virus definitions in all cases, and am getting
no indication that this particular machine has any malware problem. So
.... what could be the explanation?

I would recommend using Mozzila Firefox. It is an opensource web browser. It
is less vunerable to spyware, adware and exploits as less people use it. It
is perfectly safe to use and download. I use it. It will import your IE
favourites for you, most of the keyboard shortcuts are the same, and you can
customize the look of it with themes and extentions.

I use it already. The only disadvantages are: i) MSN messenger always opens
peoples spaces in IE. ii) Microsoft have made Windows Update so that only IE
can use it - Not a problem if you have XP SP2!

Get it at: www.getfirefox.com - it is totally FREE. Also you can still use
IE whenever you wish!
