IE not redirecting to a masked URL

Hi, again --

Since everyone here is so knowledgeable, I thought I'd ask this, too - I am
the webmaster for a potter friend's website - http://www.kurtwildpottery.com.
I have masked the real address during domain registration, and this usually
doesn't cause a problem for viewing. I was visiting a friend's house, and
wanted to show him the site - it resulted in a 404 page not found error when
I typed in the address as above. If I googled Kurt Wild, I could go to the
'real' address of the site in my friend's IE browser. Same problem in
Firefox, too. Could this be some weird setting in Spybot, or AdAware, or some
other program?

Thanks!

First: I had no problem viewing that web site.

The 404 message indicates that the domain name has been resolved to an
IP address, an HTTP request was sent to that IP address, and the
server there simply couldn't find the page that was requested. Since
no specific page was requested, the server would return a default
page, usually something named index.html or default.html or possibly
one of those things with an asp extension (this is configurable at the
server).

So, after all that verbiage, I think what most likely happened was a
short-lived server misconfiguration. That's consistent with the
message appearing in both browsers.

But it happened on a subsequent visit, too. Something is misconfigured in my
friend's computer, but I can't begin to imagine what.
