IE keeps shutting down

Everytime I hit the back button or everytime I try to "X"
out of a page, the box pops up that says, "Internet
Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close.
We are sorry for the inconvenience."

I did a full scan using McAffee's (after making sure I
was completely updated) and found several viruses. They
were all deleted. I ran a 2nd scan and no viruses were
found. I downloaded the "Stinger" program as suggested
by McAffee's. It did not find any viruses.

Why does IE keep shutting down?

I would appreciate ANY feedback.
Thanks

Try this: Tools > Internet Options > Advanced > Browsing
Uncheck the Enable 3rd party browser extensions

If this clears your problem then find out who the malware is.
