IE Keeps Shutting Down????

When I open Internet Explorer I keep getting a warning message from Norton
that my homepage is trying to be changed. Then I get an error message that
Internet Explorer must shut down. I did a scan using Norton but it did not
find anything. When I ran Spybot it found CWS Trojan. I deleted the file and
the files that were found in the registry but I am still having the same
problem. I tried to do a System Restore but it keeps telling me that it
cannot restore back to the earlier points I select (I've tried multiple
dates). I Google'd to find info. about this CWS Trojan and found the CW
Shredder and installed it on my computer. It does not find anything either.
Can anyone help me get to the bottom of this?

By attempting remove the trojan manually, you have interfered with the
ability of software tools to remove it. Plus, CWS is one of the most
insidious and difficult to remove malware infestations. You are probably
left with no remaining choice but to perform a bare metal reinstall.

This may be caused by spyware/malware that's gotten installed on
your system. Use Ad-Aware, Windows Defender and/or Spybot Search & Destroy
to remove it.

If no joy, in IE go to Tools...Internet Options...Advanced tab, Browsing
section, uncheck "Enable third-party browser extensions", click Apply, click
Okay, reboot. If that solves your problem, then more troubleshooting is
needed to find out exactly which program, or Browser Helper Object (BHO) is
causing this problem. You don't want to leave it at that, as some BHOs are
useful or necessary - like Adobe Acrobat for reading .pdf files or an
essential component of Norton AV. Get BHODemon -

Disable all items, and then gradually replace one or two at a time to narrow
down the culprit.
