IE keeps shutting down

K

kimasahm

I am running Windows 98 with Internet Explorer 6.
Zoomtown is my internet service.
I am continuously getting error messages that IE is about
to close. These are the errors I am getting with the
reason.

1.Microsoft IE has encountered a problem and needs to
close.

2. Iexplore This program has performed and illegal
operation and will be shut down.
IEXPLORE caused a general protection fault in module
USER.EXE

If anyone can help me with this annoying problem I would
great appriciate it.

Thank You

The problem you have is happening w/everyone using the new
IE6. What's going on is this, some websites need to be
reconfig. for IE6. So you have to tell those websites
yourself that IE6 nolonger works on their webpages etc.

The replys you'll get from the webmasters is that your
OS or IE6 is buggy. Well it's not, it's their site
that is incompatable now w/IE6. To verify this I was told
by my tech.guy. To open those problem sites using the old
IE5. It works fine on every site, even those that IE6 now
has tech.issues with.

In short, you'll just have to live w/IE6 shutting down.
Until those particular websites do an IE6 update. Also,
I was told using NETSCAPE browser will cause your OS to
crash on webpages config. for IE6.

You're just plain wrong.
