IE Icon on Taskbar Displays Only One Letter

A strange occurance...occasionally, the IE icon on the Taskbar will only
display one character instead of the entire page name.

For example:
When www.microsoft.com is typed, the icon usually displays "Microsoft
Corporation - Microsoft Internet Explorer" on the Taskbar.

However, intermittently I will sometimes get just an "M" on the icon. I
cannot cause this to happen with any particular key stroke and seems to be
random. It has occurred with numerous other webpages as well, with only
their first initial appearing on the IE icon. If I hit <CTRL-N> and open a
duplicate IE page, the full title appears normally on the Taskbar.

This is a clean installation of WinXP Pro Ver. 2002 SP2 and IE Ver.
6.0.2900.2180.xpsp_sp2_gdr.050301-1519. The harddrive was reformatted less
than a week ago. All Microsoft updates have been installed. Anti-Virus and
Anti-Spyware software are routinely run.

Any solution to this mystery? I'll provide any additional requested info to
help track this down.

I was actually referring to Google Desktop Search tool. If you have it
installed, try uninstalling it.

If not, you may need to use the Add-on manager as William stated.

Also:

Internet Explorer Title bar information is "corrupt" or the text is
truncated ?
