Yesterday, when clicking on the arrow icon to select previously typed
URLs in the adress bar, IE explorer haung and then prompted to send an
error report to Microsoft before closing

What is causing this and how can it be corrected?

HI Fran :)

Try the following and see if it helps:

Clearing the TIF Cache -
Safely Delete the Temporary Internet Files
http://www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/delcache.htm
Delete Off-Line files as well

or.

How to Delete the Contents of the Temporary Internet Files Folder
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;260897
Delete view off-line files not the pages File, Save as.

also..

It might be an AutoComplete/History problem. Try these steps and see if they
help:

Courtesy of Don Varnau -

1. Clear the History from Internet Options> General
2. Delete the History folder http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/delcache.htm
3. Use DelTypedURL from http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/delcache.htm to clear
the Address Bar dropdown list if clearing the History does not clear it
4. This may be a malware issue. Work through the solutions (CWShredder,
Ad-aware, Spybot) at
http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/unwanted.htm Also note the security tips on that
page.

Thank you so much for taking the trouble to reply.

I'll step through these and let the group know what happens.

Thanks once again.
