IE Homepage resets to 'a' default on reboot

System Windows 98, IE 6. Original highspeed internet
service was in a 'Charter' area. Moved the computer to
an 'Adelphia' area. When moved, all Charter-related
software was purged from the system (uninstalled.
However, on booting, the homepage 'always' goes to
a 'Charter.com Homepage, even though Internet Options
Homepage set to 'Adelphia.com Homepage' prior to shuting
the computer down. Any suggestions on where
the 'Charter.com Homepage' default resides and how it
overrides the Internet Options setting?
