IE hangs on downloads

A recent issue has developed whereby IE6.0 hangs when I
attempt to download anything. Normally a window will pop
up with a "save" option that allows me to save a
downloadable file wherever I want to....now that doesn't
even pop up. It looks like that "save to" screen is
trying to come up but it never fully does. I've checked
stuff like security and privacy settings but that doesn't
seem to be the problem.

Any ideas?

Same here. No one seems to know whats wrong. I don't want
to reinstall XP (fresh), and it's impossible to kill IE6
and then reinstall it. Anyone help?

same problem here. i'm using ME and have upgraded IE to
the SP1 level. i found some KB articles but they tend to
be server side problems. are you guys using DSL? maybe
it's a problem with the firewall at the ISP.
