I am using IE 6.0 for browsing an ftp directory that is filled with lots of
..tif images. Howto setup IE 6.0 that I can either preview the images when
clicking on them within the IE window or that I get my default viewer started
for viewing the image. If I download the image to my desktop I can view it
with my default viewer but it rejects to work when clicking on the image icon
in an ftp directory within IE 6.0

You need this or something like it:

Oh thanks. I already tried this, in vain. I managed to get this applet into
my IE and it is functioning when browsing http. But as soon as I change to
ftp the applet disappears and when clicking on a .tif file that lousy small
icon comes in the upper left corner of the window instead of the image
itself. Seems to me that IE as an ftp client is unable to use my default file
association or an Active-X control item. It simply works perfectly with
Firefox, ops...

You made no mention of FTP in your previous post. Have you tried contacting the authors of the plugin? Also
you could try changing the setting "enable folder view for FTP sites" in IE under Tools>Options>Advanced.
