IE dialog box gives incorrect information

I am recently having an issue with Internet Explorer that I don't
understand. A dialog box is coming up with the message "Internet Explorer
cannot open Internet site <insert web site here>", but it only seems to
affect certain web sites, including http://www.espn.com. Even though I get
this dialog box, the page appears to load completely. Even strange, is when
I use the Maxthon web browser, which uses IE, I do not get this error at
all. What could cause this to happen? Thanks in advance for any help with
this issue.
