IE crashes with any google video

Paul Sala

If I try to play ANY google (http://video.google.com/) video, my IE crahes
and I get this message:

internet explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close
appname: iexplore.exe ver:6.0.2900.2180 mod name:jscript.dll

I was able to play them a few days ago. My co-worker has the same issue as
me on their PC. I am on XP pro sp2.

I updated the definitions for ad-aware, Spybot-Search&Destroy, and Symantec
Antivirus and I ran them all. They all came back clean. Also, I can play
videos with IE at www.youtube.com just fine. Could there be a GV IE plugin
I need to reload or fix?

I turned off my firewall on my PC, no help. I cleared out my browser cache,
no help

Here are screen shots of the error and IE's plugin list.

My Flash version is 9.0.16.0 And it works, well at least I tested it at
adobes web site. Shockwave is not installed

Any ideas on what's broke? Help!!! Thanks.....

Very grainy image shows:

ModVer: 5.6.0.8820

Why are you so behind in your maintenance?

There was a security update which would have given you a higher version
than that in August and a subsequent hotfix this month which would give
you an even more recent version.

What's the latest version supposed to be? I've got some work pc's
updated and it's still 5.6.0.8820...

I was probably thinking of this one:

http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/Bulletin/MS06-023.mspx

(Live Search for
jscript site:microsoft.com intitle:bulletin intitle:ms06
)

<example>
Jscript.dll 5.6.0.8831 18-May-2006 05:24 450,560 SP2GDR

Jscript.dll 5.6.0.8831 18-May-2006 05:37 450,560 SP2QFE

</example>

How were your machines updated? I would have expected WU or AU
to have found a "critical" update for you.
