IE Automatically Closes When Viewing Some Sites

AirTile

When I go to certain websites (e.g. www.dabs.com) or try
to sign in to Hotmail Internet Explorer will
automatically close. The problem is getting worse and I
am struggling to find a solution.

One site I found in a Google search appeared to have the
solution - but of course once I tried to access the site
Internet Explorer closed.

Can anybody help?

First eliminate any scumware.

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each needs to be updated with the program's update function
before every use, even when just downloaded. There's also a lot more to do
than just those two programs. CWShredder is also available here:

.

I carried out the tasks you suggested but the problem is
still persisting. A lot of spyware etc has been removed
thanks to the programs you suggested.

However, I have found a possible solution that appears to
work - Netscape Navigator 7.0

All of the sites that I previously could not access I can
now do so with Netscape. However, I will still use IE as my
main browser.

Any additional comments would be great. Thank you for your
help.

The only fancy thing about that site is one JavaScript file
for its dropdown menus. Try making Active Scripting a Prompt
and see if replying No gets you any further.

The other thing to note about its page is that once I picked
a version it was completely cached. In case that is the cause
of the problem try opening it from your cache (without scripting)
and press Ctrl-F5 as soon as you can. E.g. set Work Offline
(Alt-F,W) and enter:
http://www.dabs.com/uk

I imagine the other sites you are having trouble with use scripting too
so similar testing on them could prove informative.

Good luck
