IE and SP2 problems

Chris

Ever since I have upgraded to SP2, I have noticed that
while surfing the internet, IE has that little bar that
pops up underneath the address bar that wants to install
something related to that webpage (like flash player).
So, whenever one of those pop up, I click on it and
select install. Then the security warning pops up, and I
click install. Then it reloads the page, and just sits
there. It never installs the file that it says it needs,
but whenever I go back to that site, the bar pops up
again. So I don't know if the firewall is blocking
itself or something dumb like that.
Just looking for some idea.
Thanks

Your not talking of the pop up blocker maybe? If so it is just warning
you that a pop up tried to start and asking you if you want to change
the pop up blocker settings to allow the pop up to start.

Pop up blocker is a new IE feature in SP2

It's called the Information Bar and it's been screwing with downloads,
streaming videos, etc on my system and I have yet to find any way to turn
the damn thing off. I read the info at the web pages listed in the other
comments but they do not say how to turn it off either. I want it off
because I'm running ZoneAlarm, McAfee, Spy Sweeper, etc and they all protect
me better than the stupid Information Bar and Microsoft's attempt to protect
beginners and novices from doing anything stupid.
