ie and dll error, and then closes window

Hello all,

I have XP SP2 IE6.0xxx and Sun Java 1.4.x

Started to have a problem the other day. I visit some pages tat require Java
enabled and when I go to those pages the screen opens and then goes blank
with error that mshtml.dll missing. SO I got the file from dllfiles.com and
put it back in the windows/system folder. This is how I always solved these
problems but not this time. I still get the error.
I removed Sun Java, reinstalled it and still have this problem.

any ideas on what else to check for?

I tried to DL IE from MS but since I have a newer version that was on the
site it wont let me install.
is there a way to remove IE and reinstall it?

Thanks

Dave-

To reinstall IE you will first have to remove Windows XP Service Pack 2 from
Control Panel | Add or Remove Programs. Then see this article:

XP

Make sure your anti-virus is turned off.
