IE and Acrobat

I can open a PDF file when I'm in explorer but when I close the file, IE
crashes. The Adobe pdf.ocx file won't set up inside the manage add-ons file.
Removing and re-installing Adobe CS1 doesn't correct it. The problem seems
to be somewhere in an IE setting. How can I fix this?

Remove Adobe Acrobat Reader then install the latest version.

Since Adobe created the Acrobat software and the PDF format then Adobe software is the
*REAL* deal in PDF Readers, others are alternates.

Adobe CS1 (Creative Suite) contains 6 Adobe programs of which one is Acrobat
Professional. I don't need the free reader. Opening PDF files in Thunderbird
is fine, nothing crashes. My problem is with IE. I use two browsers for
different uses and I don't have any viruses or malware in my computer. Sorry
but your help doesn't solve the problem, thanks for trying. Anyone else with
some ideas?????

OK, you have the full Acrobat product. The Browser Help Object for IE is the component that
is causing you problems.

Look at the Preferences (Edit --> Preferences) and look for Internet settings. Diasble the
view in Browser settings then reboot the PC and then go back in and re-enable the view in
Browser setting.

If that doesn't work, then you may have to re-install Adobe Acrobat.

You can install install the Adobe Reader. It will then install the Browser view option into
IE.

Otherwise, I suggest creating an account and posting in the Adobe Forums.
