Acrobat Pro Plug-In Crashes IE

I recently experienced a change in how Acrobat Pro (v6.0.4) responds when opening a .pdf file from a web page. In the past, it would open in the same browser window and display the file properly. Now, it launches a separate browser window (which is fine - I prefer that), but when I close the new window, I receive an error message that says, "Internet Explorer has encountered a problem with an add-on and needs to close. The following add-on was running when this problem occurred: File: pdf.ocx Company Name: Adobe Systems Description: Adobe Acrobat Control for ActiveX". PDF.ocx is version 6.0.2.126.

Near as I can tell, this began happening at or near the time I installed the last update to Acrobat. Any idea what's broken?

Thanks.

Jan -

Thanks for trying, but nothing makes any difference. I got around the
problem by disabling the "Display PDF in browser" option within Acrobat. Of
course, this disables the plug-in, but I don't mind reading the .pdf files
in an Acrobat window rather than in a browser window.
