Has Microsoft said anything about any major update to IE 6?

Microsoft has said there will be no major releases of IE before Longhorn,
scheduled for 2005.

I may be wrong, but its my understanding that the next version of
Internet Explorer will only be compatible with the next version of Windows,
code-named Longhorn. In other words, if you're using 98, ME, 2000 or XP,
you can't upgrade IE anymore, unless you consider security updates as an
upgrade.
