IE-7

I just insalled IE-7 on my XP-SP2 system, and I installed any new updates
that were required by Microsoft, by using the Windows Update feature.
Everytime I try and click on another tab, or try and open another tab, IE-7
closes. Is there something I need to change in IE-7, or Internet Options in
the control panel, or Hotfix that I need to install. Thank you in advance
for your response.

I know of two causes for the vast majority of such problems:
1. Incompatible add-ons: What if you right click the IE icon on the desktop
and choose Start Without Add-ons?
Or go to Start | All Programs | Accessories | System Tools | Internet
Explorer (No Add-ons).

2. Malware already installed on the computer: Help with malware

Unexplained computer behavior may be caused by deceptive software.

So How Did I Get Infected Anyway?
For quite a few people it's by installing Messenger Plus, whose ads for
malware don't identify the malware as such and try to convince you that you
owe it to the author. See also:

Don't ever do a "default" install of anything. Always choose Custom and see
what else is being carried along. Don't install any extras you're not sure
of.

I hope I'm in the right place to post a question with a problem.
In IE 6, I was able to right click on a check picture in my checking account
while in on-line banking and save it as" a .PNG file.
IE 7 forces it to a .BMP file. Can you tell me how and where to change this
file type back to a .PNG?

Thank you,

That happens when the Temporary Internet Files are too full. In IE click
Tools | Internet Options. Click Delete Files in the Temporary Internet
files section of the General tab. On the next window place a check mark in
the box to Delete all offline content.
