Out of the blue other users but myself are not able to open IE 6. when tried
to open get the message that says
http://auto.search.msn.com/response.asp?MT-internet+explorer&srch=5&utf8'.
Make sure your typed the name correctly, and try again. To search for a
file, double click the start button and then click search.

I thought if i would instlal IE 7 it would help, but now IE7 will open then
disappear on all users but myself. Any and all suggestions would be greatly
appreciated.
thank ayou

I'm confused here!, do all of them get this search page?.
If so then you need or they need to set their Homepage to another homepage
they prefer to set up as their home page.
Try to Click Start >> Control Panel >> Network and Internet connections >>
Internet Options.
On the IE properties under General Tap change the path for the home page
from the msn live search to the preferred home page.
Or else please clarify does all user can't open it at all, in this case I
assume profiles corruption or they got the search engine, see how much I'm
confused ;-).
HTH.
Let us know.

Nass, thank you for your reply. let me unconfuse you :)
I have three users set up on Xp. My user opens up ie 6 and 7 no problem.
When i switch over to my husbans or daughers, on IE 6 I get the search
message. When I installed 7 no message, it just opens and close right away on
duaghters and husbands dektop. I have tried changing their paths under
intenet options general tab already and it still does not work.
Thank you

Now I can see even my Cat meowing ;-), try this, On the IE Properties click
on Advanced Tab then scroll down under Browsing option;
[&] Browsing
[ ] Enable Third-Party browser extensions (Req Rest) uncheck this box.
Then click on Programs Tab and click on Manage Add-Ons, there disable all
non-verified Add-Ons and click Apply then [OK].
Reboot your machine and see if that will help.

Be sure the machine malware free and the users rights/privileges are set to
access the Internet, did they set as admin or normal user?.
HTH.
