IE 6 will not launch

I am running IE 6 on Windows 2000 and when I click on the
IE shortcut Icon IE does not launch, also tried launching
directly from the main folder and it still doesn't work.
Have uninstalled and reinstalled with no sucess. The only
way that I have been able to launch IE is to put in the
boot-up disk that came with the computer and launch IE
from there. I have ran spyware and Norton scans with
nothing found. Turned off firewall and pop-up blocker
programs, still no luck. Any suggestions on how to
resolve this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

how about the msn browser, will that work. can you try
repair from the add/remove control panel. guess i would
check for malware/trojans. try another browser mozilla?
