IE 6 ver SP2 will not access Windows update page

When I try to update windows the Windows Beta Update page
is displayed. Until today I received a blank page. I
have tried the suggestions contained in similar problems
through page 40 of the knowledge base. When I try to re-
install Internet Explorer I am told I have a newer
version installed and the installation is stopped. I
tried to use the procedure outlined in Article 318378 but
got the same response -- newer version installed.

I have also tried the suggestions contained in article
193385, but still cannot get Windows Update Page opened.

I find only sp1 listed as being the latest update, yet I
have sp2.

There is NO IE 6 SP2.

When I select Help in Internet Explorer, then About
Internet Explorer, it tells me I have version
6.0.2900.2055 and Update version SP2. In any case I need
to be able to access the Windows Update page. Any
suggestions?

That is, indeed, a beta of WinXP SP2. Where did you get it? You will have
better luck in the beta newsgroups.

I also have the BETA SP", goodness knows how I got it!

I'd like to revert back to SP1 as I'm having problems with the SP2 in
that many of the links I try and view show as the source code!

Any ideas?

Control Panel | Add/Remove Programs
Make sure "Show updates" at the top is checked. Then you should see Windows
XP SP2 near the bottom.
