IE 6 - Pages will not load

XP sp2 - I installed the Feb. 14 updates to Media Player and Outlook Junk
mail filter. Shortly after that I began to experiance a strange IE issue.
When ever I launch IE the memory usage goes sky high, the pages do not load,
IE hangs, my PC slows down and eventually multiple instance of the page
[may] open. I removed those updates but same thing occurs. I tried
restoring my PC to an earlier version but that did not work. I ran a virus
scan and that found nothing. I removed and reinstalled IE....same.

Any ideas?

I ran a Windows XP repair and it seemed to fix the issue.
Nerveous about installing those updates again....

It sounds like your file types association could be messed up - especially
when you mention multiple windows of IE opening. See this for possible
help:
