IE 6 SP2?

When I click on help to check my version it says;
"6.0.2900.2180.xpsp_sp2_gdr.050301-1519" Below that it says;
"Product ID:76487-OEM-0080785-87099" and;
"Update versions:; SP2;"
I can't find any updates for sevice pack 2 of IE. so I thought it was just
my XP Version and tried to download IE 6.0 SP1 and I got a pop-up stating
that the software I was attepting to download was older than my current
version. I don't even see any where were you can download SP2 of IE. only
SP1. How can I have SP2 if I can't download it from Microsoft? There has got
to be some sort of updates for it, some sort of patches. I also have XP Media
Center Edition 2005, but when I check the same version window, it says MCE
2002. I Bought this copy at Frys and since it is OEM I can't call Micrsoft to
ask them anything W/O paying $27 or so. Can someone help me by telling me who
to call that I can ask these kind of questions?
Thanks a whole lot!

IE SP2 was installed when you installed Windows XP SP2. If there are any
updates, they come through Windows Update.

TPW is correct.

Additionally, you can obtain updates to IE 6 SP2 from Microsoft's download
site. The product you need to enter is IE, not Windows.

Sorry, but that is one thing I wassaying in my post. I went to IE download
site and there is nothing there for SP2 of IE. Everything says: "Internet
Explorer for XP SP2". Is this clearer than what I posted before? That is what
I wanted help on.....Finding IE SP2. Never Saw It.......Am I just missing it?

You have WinXP SP2 and IE SP2.
Have you looked at Windows Update for any updates? When you get the chance
choose Custom rather than Express and look at the Optional updates. If
Automatic Updates has not been turned off you should already have all of the
Critical Updates.

As far as your MCE 2002 question, all WinXP versions show 2002 as the
Windows version. My Tablet PC Edition 2005 shows Version 2002 also.

If this doesn't answer your question you'll have to phrase it differently.

What you are missing is that IE6sp2 does not exist as a separate product.
IE6sp2 is a way of referring to the pieces of XPsp2 which provide browsing
functionality in it and as such is commonly called Internet Explorer.

As everyone has been telling you go to Windows Update and accept
what it gives for critical updates. One of them will be something called
"Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer." That is the closest
that you are going to get to being able to "download and install IE6sp2".

You last two guys really got me figured out! You both know that I read so
literal that if someone doesn't put it clear, I can find the mud! You guys
are great. Both last posts were right on. I do and have downloaded all of the
updates for XP_SP2, so I am there. Great info on the 2002/2005 issue! Thanks
again and my apologies......
