IE 6 problem...?

Suddenly now when I browse, I can go to different sites
all right, but usually a part of the page (in a box)
says, "Action Cancelled."

These are probably just ads, but I believe it's the cause
of other problems, such as freezing so that I have to re-
boot. I thought perhaps I didn't have Java installed, but
that wasn't it...

I also did "repair" on IE 6 -- but still have this problem.

If I were to uninstall 6 - then reinstall... how would I
do this w/o browser available?

HOSTS file problem?
Look also for a file named HOSTS (no extension, could be hidden) rename it
OLDHOSTS, reboot.

If you did not create this file then a program is generating it.
Web accelerator?
Pop up stopper?

A parasite?
Remove all the parasites on your computer.
Delete all the spywares and bad BHOs from your system.
