IE 6 Problem

I just installed software for my Dell all in one laser color printer and
since then I go to use Internet explorer and if I try to go to say Dell.com
it immediately goes back to the home page and freezes up a new window. I was
going to uninstall explorerer but it does not appear in add remove programs
even after checking the box for updates. Any help would be appreciated.

I am running XP Professional. What I mean is I go to open any website after
starting the initial webrowser and pops up a new browser window but then it
freezes that window and will go nowhere. I can't upgrade to IE 7 as far as I
know because I can't get te browser to function to browse to that download. I
will try the uninstalling printer software and see where that goes and post
the results

I uninstalled the dell laser printer software that I thought may be realted
to this problem and I still have the same problem. It will open the yahoo
home page I have designated but when from that browser when I try to go to
another web address both the new window it trys to open and the original go
into not responding.........

Hi Mike,

Does this happen in noAddons mode? Start>Programs>Accessories>System
Tools>Internet Explorer (no Addons)
or
Internet Options - Advanced tab - uncheck "enable third-party browser
helpers"

If not use your Addins Manager (Tools>Manage Addons) to disable any unknown
toolbar or browser helpers. OR use the Add/Remove Programs applet to
uninstall it.

Sometimes software comes bundled with unwanted /incompatible addons (even
reputable companies). Always read the installation instructions carefully.

Regards
