How can I stop web sites from adding cookies that change
my homepage? They also add their short cuts to
my "Favorites" Folder which I would like to stop as well.

in ie,tools,options,advanced,uncheck both of the 'install
on demand',apply. this should stop the problem as a cookie
should not change your homepage unless you have spyware
doing it. get spybot from safer-networking.org and update
and scan on easy, and remove junk, and it keeps backups too.

First eliminate any scumware.

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each needs to be updated before every use, even when just
downloaded. There's also a lot more to do than just those two programs.
