ICS problems

Simon

I'm having problems configuring ICS.

The host computer is win XP, and the client is win 98.
All the appropriate settings have been made, the two PC's
(connected directly using a cat 5 crossover cable) can
share files and printers.

If I try to connect to the internet using the client PC
(ADSL broadband), the host computer automatically
connects. However, the client is not able to access (or
ping) anything on the internet. Additionally, the host
comes up with an alg32 error.

Does anyone have any ideas what is causing this error and
how I can fix it? I used win xp's internet connection
sharing wizard to set up both computers.

Thanks in anticipation,

Simon

You can't use two PC's without a router to connect to
Broadband. broadband modems accepts one IP address, the
rout will make it seem as only one PC is connected to the
IPS, go and get a router.

What a horrible reply Mr. MSoft...actually, one can use
ICS to connect two PC's over broadband. I suggest this
user go through the ICS troubleshooting on the technet
site.
