ICS and accessing websites problem

Hello

I have three Computers two XP A and B, and one 2000,
Laptop A has a Cingular card which is shared with B and C, through wired ICS
most everything works fine, except certain websites do not load on machines
B and C, one of them being www.microsoft.com, also some bank sites and random
news paper sites, stores and such. I am unable to find a pattern to why these
sites don't load.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks

This is a common problem with shared DSL connections, and it might be
affecting your shared Cingular connection. The solution involves
changing the Maximum Transmission Unit (MTU) specification on the ICS
host computer (Laptop A). For details, please see this Microsoft
Knowledge Base article:

Connectivity Problems on ICS Clients When You Use a PPPoE Connection
on a Windows XP ICS Host
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/319661/en-us

Note that in the recommended "ping" command:

ping -f -l MTU_size default_gateway_IP_address

the "-l" option is a minus sign followed by the lower case letter L.
For example, using the recommended starting MTU size of 1454 and a
hypothetical default gateway address of 123.123.123.123:

ping -f -l 1454 123.123.123.123

Hello

I tried setting the MTU key both on the 2000 box, and on the ICS laptop,
going down to 1300 as the value, the pings went through fine, however it does
not solve the problem.
I did not try setting it on the wireless internet connection on the ICS
laptop.

Any other suggestions? :)
Thanks

After re-reading the Knowledge Base article that I mentioned, I think
that I made a mistake in my first reply. The article says to
determine and set the MTU value on the client computers (B and C), not
on the host computer (A). Set it to the highest value that gives
successful pings.

If this doesn't solve the problem, I suggest contacting your cellular
Internet service provider for help.
