ICS Access by clients only if 1 user dials in

I have a home network with the one XP machine, that is acting as ICS host,
having more than one user configured. ICS was set up while in user 'Dad'. The
clients can only access the internet if the user on the ICS server is logged
into and using 'Dad' when the internet connection is made.
I have run the wizard from within other users to no
avail???

Does the XP machine use a dial-up Internet connection? If so:

1. Open the Network Connections folder.
2. Right click the dial-up connection.
3. Click Properties.
4. Click Options.
5. Put a check mark in the box "Prompt for name and password,
certificate, etc".
6. Click OK.
7. Double click the connection.
8. Put a check mark in the box "Save this user name and password for
the following users".
9. Click "Anyone who uses this computer".
10. Click Dial.

After that, the Internet connection should work for all users. You
can go back to step 5 and un-check the box if desired.

Thanks Steve, I hadn’t taken much notice of this before because the Radio
button for ‘Me’ is checked and the ‘Anyone who uses……’ is greyed out whatever
I do. It did start me trying things to see what I could do to possibly get it
to enable. In the ‘Advanced’ tab of ‘Properties’ I unchecked “Allow other
network users to connect through this computer’s internet connection and when
I checked it again I got the following message box

“The username and password for this connection cannot be saved for use by
all users. As a result, Internet Connection Sharing can only dial this
connection when you are logged on. You should create a new connection for all
users, save your username and password for all users, and then enable sharing
for the new connection.â€

I haven’t much time right now, I'll get back tonight, but I’m also not sure
now whether to create a new connection while in each user (5) or to try and
create the connection so that it affects all users somehow? I may have
created the internet connection before the users (it was a fair while ago),
maybe recreating the connection now would make it better? I just ran the
wizard and I didn’t get asked about other users? I am an ‘Administrator’
