right click on the icon and delete... this will just remove the icon and not
the connections.. Rainy
how can I get rid of local area and wireless network connection icons. do
not use them.

If you are referring to the ones in the system tray, there is an option as
to whether or not they show in the properties of the network connection.
Simply view the network connections and right click the ones in question,
choose properties and uncheck that option on the general tab.
