Local area connection

I'm not on a local area connection, I only hookup to ATT for the
internet. How do I take the "network cable is unplugged" icon off the
task bar?

TIA

Control Panel>Network>Local Area Connections. Find the entries that *aren't*
your ethernet network adapter (or however you're connected to the DSL
modem) and right-click on each one, then left-click Properties. You'll see
where you can uncheck the option to display the icon in the Notification
Area. If the box is already unchecked, sometimes checking it, clicking
Apply, then unchecking it, Apply/OK out works.
