Icons on desktop too large

Is there a way I can reduce the size of icons on my desktop / folders in XP

For the icons on the Desktop:

Start, Settings, Control Panel, Display, Appearance tab, Advanced,
in the Item box, select icon and set the size to your liking.

For the icons in folders:
I'm new to XP and can't find this one.

Is there a way I can reduce the size of icons on my desktop / folders

With respect to folders, are you referrng to the icons found within folders?
Why not switch to Details View? It has more information, smaller icons, and
is more powerful.
After switching one folder to Details View (click on the View Menu, select
Details) then do the following:
Click on the Tools menu
Select Folder Options
Click View tab
Click "Apply to all folders"
Click Yes
Click OK
