Reduce size of Start icon on desktop

Is there a way to either reduce the size of the Start icon on the
desktop or modify the icon itself?

Perhaps if you change the theme for WinXP, you can change
the dimensions of desktop elements ? Using a hacked uxtheme
file, apparently the digital signature check is removed,
so you can then run other themes.

I found the answer on an assembly language board.
It involves a resouce editor and a registry change.

It's pretty cool.

I changed the Start to Go which reduced the icon size in half.
I may change the logo later.
